I came across a tweet on Twitter (↑) this Saturday that said something like this,

“Top 100 Online Marketers in 2008.”

I was foolish enough to follow the link and took a look at the list. At first, I thought, “Well, a lot of guys I know, I write about on my E-Biz Booster Blog, not bad…”

Of course, this was only the first impression.

Sick Of Recession Talk? Seth Godin About Big Small Businesses

Personally I am so sick of all this recession talk. It's everywhere. Now I am reading 50 job applicants for each job opening in the United Kingdom. That number by itself doesn't say anything. I don't get it why mass media always distorts reality and makes it appear more negative than it is. People should stop buying into this “negativity reporting”.


Need some positive news?

It has been historically proved that a recession is actually a good time to start off a new business. I know that self-employment or being an employer is not for everyone,... That's true. But if you have it in your veins t work for yourself than you'll appreciate the following interview with Seth Godin.

Welcome to the sixteenth edition of email marketing tips on January 20, 2009.

The first edition of email marketing tips in 2009 is packed with information. I am not talking about the number of blog posts that I am featuring. No. I have thrown out almost all that got submitted. What's left is worthy of your attention and time. Lean back, read and enjoy.

At this time I am considering probably changing the schedule to one carnival every three weeks. We will see. I did not make up my mind on this so far. Only one fact remains unchallenged. I tend to keep the quality of this carnival up and will only give you noteworthy articles to read.

Already in 2008 I featured many articles that were not submitted by their authors but were rather found by myself on the internet. I see this trend might continue, because at least 85% of the submitted articles don't qualify according to my set quality standards.

Most of my readers are living in the USA. I want to wish them the best for the future.

As I am writing this post the video which I have embedded here got 15,514,304 views within the one year since it has been put online. I wish my videos were that popular.

Since I have lived in the USA for quite some time, mostly in the 90s, I have a certain sentiment for people and country. That's why.

We usually believe that more choices is better. I mean, in which shoe store would you go? The one with 2 pair of different models on display or the one with 50?

Our economy is driven by giving people as many choices as possible. However, there is a point when too much choice is simply too much.

As marketer you should listen what your market wants, instead of overwhelming them with what they don't want.

Psychologist Barry Schwartz wrote a whole book, after he was dissatisfied with a purchase of a pair of jeans. Imagine that… most customers won't tell you what's wrong. They simply won't come back.

So take this opportunity and listen to a quite entertaining analysis about choices. Even while being entertaining he conveys an important point.
